Inspiration:
Every person is comprised of many
facets.
There is the person the general public
sees in the car next to them in traffic or behind them in the check
out line. There is the person our family sees, the parent, the
child, the sibling. Our friends see us in another light, old
friends from school and new friends see us in different ways.
Business associates spend hours with us sharing the stress of
deadlines and obligation, celebrating successes and know us well as a
boss, subordinate, or coworker.
But underneath it all is our true self.
The part of us that bears the scars of every heartbreak and every
disappointment. The part of us that knows not all people are
good, the part that understands why cynicism is necessary. Yet,
ironically, this is the part of ourselves that harbors our secret
dreams, from which we find the strength to risk again and again the
pain of heartbreak, of disappointment for the promise of a fairytale
ending. Underneath it all is our true self, from which hope
radiates.
